Waxing Your Coochie for the First Time with No Instructions

Yea okay we’re getting right into it. This is probably going to be a really nasty post so just fair warning. So a few weeks ago, I was with Club President and Treasurer, and we were just talking as girls do. Then the topic of pussies came up and the 2 of them shared that they’ve always gotten it waxed down there and they’ve always done it themselves. Apparently, they bring it out with the whole shebang; the mini melting pots, wax beads, and those fat-ass lollipop-like wooden sticks. This came as a shock to me, cause usually I’m the type to just shave. And also, I thought to myself, “Don’t their necks start to cramp up at some point?” Anyways, that conversation just left me a bit curious.

So, since I’m home until next week, I decided to utilize this boring time in quarantine to try something new. Yea, I could’ve just read a book or whatever, but you know, I guess I wasn’t being tortured enough with COVID. A few days into quarantine, I get bored and order some wax strips on Amazon, and they get to my house within a few days. I’ve never waxed before so I don’t feel comfortable wielding out the whole pot set without at least some sufficient knowledge and opt for the pre-applied wax strips instead. What you’re supposed to do is take a sheet out (there’s usually 2 wax strips with some wax sandwiched in the middle), rub the sheet between your hands to warm up the wax, peel the strips apart, stick it on your body, and rip it off. Simple.

I gave it a test on my leg first. My leg hairs are actually pretty thin and sparse so even if I go months without shaving, most people can’t tell how long it gets unless they’re up close staring at my leg. I lay one of the strips on there and let ‘er rip. It didn’t work as well as I thought. Maybe only 30% got taken off. Whatever. I’ve already bought a whole box-worth of them, so might as well not let them go to waste. I lock the door to my bedroom, grab a small mirror, and get to work.

I really had no idea what I was doing. I didn’t even bother searching up a video on YouTube to get an idea. Honestly, how hard could it be? The first few strips…were a waste. I just slapped them on and started pulling in every which way. I’m pretty sure that with a quick Google search, it would’ve told me I was supposed to pull the strips against the direction of hair growth, but I was still just winging it. I pulled it in every which way: up, down, left, right, diagonal, until I was able to get one strip that was full of hair. The other strips would just have specks of hair with the imprints of the strands left on the wax, but close to none were actually pulled out. After I got the hang of it, it got easier and easier. I’m pretty sure if I used the correct materials rather than pre-made wax strips, I would been able to get in all of the crevices and pull out each single hair, but for a first time beginner, I don’t think I did too bad.

So the feeling of being waxed down there didn’t hurt like how ripping duct tape off your skin would hurt, but it was more the pain of having you hairs ripped off. A good way to get a sense is to imagine how it would feel if someone grabbed a chunk of the hair on your head and ripped it out. But also, because your skin down there is a bit thinner and not as thick and callous as the skin on your hands or arms, with some strips, I ended up ripping a layer/patch of skin out. OH SO IT CAN RIP OUT A WHOLE SECTION OF SKIN BUT STILL LEAVE SOME HAIRS STILL ON MY BODY. OKAY I SEE HOW IT IS. I bought 2 boxes (of different brands) and ended up using all of them, and still, some hairs remained. Eh it’s not like I’m getting any action any time soon so I’m not too worried. It was definitely an interesting experience. I texted Club President after and told her that her boyfriend should be grateful for what she does for him. On the pain scale, I’d give it a 7/10. Maybe with the actual melted wax beads it would hurt more.

Also since we’re on the topic, does anyone have any recommendations that would help with hyper-pigmentation? I have it on my inner thighs, elbows, and underarms. Obviously, I’m kinda self-conscious about it. I’ve tried so many products but none seems to help. I use Panoxyl, The Ordinary’s glycolic acid, and The Ordinary’s peeling solution on those areas almost daily, but it doesn’t seem to change. Those are the only recommendations I see online that’s budget friendly, but if anyone else has another products they’d recommend, I’d appreciate the help.

TLDR: waxed my pussy for the first time and ended up doing it wrong
