The Lowest Grade Possible
The other day, I took my first exam for one of my summer classes. Honestly, since I couldn’t cheat this time, I thought I would only get 30% with all my best efforts. The teacher gives us a total of 24 questions; 20 multiple choice (3 points each), 2 fill in the blank (8 points each), and 2 calculation (12 points each). Since multiple choice takes up 60% and lets us choose between four options (A, B, C, or D), I’d at least get 25% of the multiple choice correct even if chosen at random. The lowest grade I could get overall would be 15%. After calculating all my homework and mini-quiz grades, I’d only need at least 50% on the exams to pass the class with a C. So, in the end, with all my efforts, I was able to get 43%.
43% is bad, but for some reason, I’m still happy about that grade. It’s less than what I needed but more than I expected and wasn’t the worst possible grade either. It just means at my next exam, I’d need a 57%. I’m sure if I study harder next time, I might even get 60%. It’s so funny. I’m happy about getting an F on a test.
During the exam, I saw the girl sitting next to me, take out her phone to cheat. I thought about it too but that’s too risky. She was able to get a 74%, so whatever, good for her.
I’m not sure if you guys were able to understand my calculation of the exam, but hopefully it wasn’t too confusing.
Until next time!
TLDR: I got an F on my first exam without cheating but I’m happy.
